During the two-day meeting, the ministers discussed the situation in Kosovo, the problems in Iraq and the Middle East as well as the strategy being used for the Mediterranean region.

Regarding Kosovo, the ministers discussed the situation there in the light of serious incidents which took place in March. The EU has expressed its wish to find a solution for the situation there.

Regarding Iraq, the ministers agreed that the United Nations should be given more importance in an attempt to solve the problems there. Many ministers said the EU and the UN should work hand in hand for the adoption of a resolution for the UN to be given a much more important role.
