In the first search, on Sunday night, a 25 year old from Birkirkara was arrested by the police after he was caught selling heroin. Several sachets of heroin were found on his person and at his residence.

In another raid during the same night, a 21-year-old Serbian man was arrested in a public garden in Paceville while he was smoking cannabis. A search of his residence in Msida was made and a cannabis plant was found growing in a cupboard.

A 22-year-old Norwegian man was also arrested in connection with this find.

Duty magistrate Dr Joseph Apap Bologna was informed of the arrests and appointed experts to help in the investigations, which are led by Inspectors Norbert Ciappara and Josric Mifsud.
