Although people’s hearts are in the right place, TMID cannot answer all these calls but there are some which deserve
attention.
Ninu is a house-trained cross breed. He is four to five years old and was abandoned by his owners. He was not simply left to roam the streets, but he was wrapped up in a bin-liner and dumped in a skip in Qawra – a callous act. Ninu was rescued and taken in by the Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary in Mellieha. He is being fostered at the moment by a family but he is spending the night in the garage of sanctuary founder Fabio Ciappara. Anyone wishing to take Ninu in can call Fabio on 7973-0900 and anyone wishing to make a donation to the sanctuary can make a deposit in BOV account number 40013262921.
TMID also received an email which had been forwarded through various mailing lists and eventually ended up in our newsroom. The email concerned a homeless, yet beautiful specimen of mastiff. The email read: “Am homeless at the moment, I am a bit injured ’cause I got hit by a car, I am also a bit dirty but hey, who wouldn’t, after running around the streets all alone with nowhere to stay. If anyone would like to have me I will do my best to be a good dog, please call Owen on 7942-4631.” It seems Owen rescued the dog after it had been run over and left to roam the streets.
