Celebrating Diversity

Malta Independent Monday, 24 May 2004, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

The aim of the activity, organised on the initiative of the school’s Comenius group, was to mark Malta’s European Union entry and to promote the concept of diversity through cross-curricular activities.

The activity commenced with an opening speech by school head Paul Attard, by curriculum activities director Ray Camilleri and the EU programmes, Unit National coordinator, Joe Sammut.

The school has applied for two Comenius projects this year. One is entitled Dealing with conflict in different cultures, which is hosted by the Wilhelm-Busch Realschule in Zundorf Cologne Germany. The partners in this project are schools from Heraklion, Crete and Skolan, Sweden. In another project, a Sicilian school is in partnership with the Mikiel Vassalli for a project on food.
