A police report said that at about 9.10am, the police had been informed of a traffic accident that took place in Vjal ir-Rihan, San Gwann. The motorcyclist, a 25-year-old from San Gwann, who was riding a Honda CBR900, was on his way to Naxxar when the accident happened. The car involved was a Citroen AX driven by a 47-year-old from Zebbug. The two vehicles were extensively damaged.

The motorcyclist was taken to St Luke’s Hospital suffering from grievous injuries. His condition was reported to be stable.
