Lee Demanuele, 30, who is currently being held at the Corradino Correctional Facility, was accused of assaulting and slightly injuring police constable Valhmor Medati on 25 May at the law courts in Valletta.
He was also accused of preventing police officers from carrying out their duties. The court, presided over by magistrate Silvio Meli, refused the accused bail.
Police inspectors Pierre Micallef Grimaud and Josric Mifsud prosecuted.
