The Police Drug Squad had been investigating three men over a two-day period after the discovery of some packets of heroin in a public garden in Fgura.
On Wednesday, policemen saw drugs being trafficked in the same garden. A 26-year-old man, who threw away some packets of heroin when he saw the police approaching, was arrested along with two others, one aged 27 from Zabbar and the other a 21-year-old from Marsascala. The police recovered a total of 30 packets of heroin.
Magistrate Silvio Meli was informed about the police investigations and he appointed several experts to draw up a report. The men are to be arraigned in the next few days.
