Nng Promotions coordinator Gianni Zammit said that with only one month left to go, tickets were selling like hot cakes, especially the Lm35 and Lm50 ones.

Eros is currently in Europe after returning from South America which was part of his world tour. He is expected to bring his entire 90-man crew with him, with a total of 11 40-foot containers.

Gianni said: “Final preparations are underway and we are talking about the last details before he comes. We also have people who are coming over to Malta from abroad to watch the show.”

Meanwhile sponsor Sandro Azzopardi said it was a pleasure to once again be a sponsor for an Nng concert. “We are very happy to be part of the set-up. Tickets are available from Sandro Gioelleria, Tower Road, Sliema or at our Valletta outlet at 45 Zachary Street,” said Mr Azzopardi.

Asked whether Nng were planning to bring over an artist every year, Gianni said: “Yes, we always try to get A-list artists as well. We are currently negotiating with Sting, Mark Knopfler and others, but these things take a lot of time.”

In response to the question of whether Malta could ever host top-bracket artists, bearing in mind the lack of demand for tickets, Gianni said: “You got it right. There is not enough demand for tickets to cover our expenses.”

Asked by TMID whether there was any possibility of the Malta Tourism Authority helping to attract foreign demand, Gianni said: “They back us, and they do give us a lot of help. But money is a different matter.”
