Malta Independent Tuesday, 8 June 2004, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Those who have an identity card issued by the National Commission for Disabled Persons will also not have to wait in line to vote and will not be asked for a medical certificate.

People presenting the Karta Anzjan who are not yet 70 years old will not be required to queue from 1pm to 5pm. Anyone who is sick and unable to wait in the queue must present a medical certificate, but must go to vote before 1pm.

The Electoral Commission will receive applications from medical officers to issue the official forms that will serve as medical certificates in order that sick people can avoid queuing during the specified hours.

The medical officers who apply will each be given 100 numbered forms on which the medical certificate is to be issued. The number of these forms may be increased as necessary.
