The event is being organised by Source-R, a modified car club that appeals to all modified car enthusiasts across Malta and Gozo. Every now and then, members and prospective members meet up to display their cars. In doing so, their main intention is to gather car enthusiasts together and give them the opportunity to have their cars appreciated locally and internationally.

As the passion for modified cars is increasing dramatically, Source-R is preparing its second major event: Art in Motion 2004. This event first took place in June 2002, and was organised in aid of charity. Art in Motion will be a two-day event over the weekend of 19 and 20 June.

The organisers told The Malta Independent that after many attempts to find the perfect venue, they came across the Cottonera Sports Complex which, they felt, was a good location for this event. They had the strong impression that this venue thrives on its uniqueness and originality, they said.

There will be around 100 of the island’s best and most prestigious modified cars, into which their owners put so much time and effort. The show will be powered by the best DJs on the island.

In the evening, light effects will be used to continue creating the right environment for such an event.

Several sponsors’ stands will be displaying products such as body kits, sound installs, engine tuning, interior and safety equipment, exhaust systems and cleaning products, among others.

The sound installation section will have cars tuned up with one of the best sound installations on the island as well as a variety of products on display. To widen the local scene, Source-R have invited foreign representatives to the event in order to show them the extent of the talent and hard work of local modified car enthusiasts.

In an attempt to give the local exhibitors international coverage, the organisers invited foreign representatives to the event in order to show them the extent of talent and hard work of local car enthusiasts.

The organisers said their event was highly successful. Representatives of the Redline Magazine, a top UK magazine for modified cars, were in Malta following the event, which will be featured in the magazine’s next edition.
