J.G. Management Consultancy Ltd are claiming that Mr Micallef owes the company Lm42,000.

In his request for the injunction, Mr Micallef said he had agreed to guarantee the debts of the Marsa Football club, but he said they amounted to Lm36,000. He added that the company should have first gone to the principal debtor, that is the football club, before taking legal steps against him.

Mr Micallef claimed J.G Consultancy Management Ltd tried to tarnish his reputation a few days before the European Parliament election.

Mr Micallef stood in the election as a Malta Labour Party candidate.

After J.G. Management Consultancy Ltd presented its reply to Mr Micallef’s request, the court refused to issue the injunction. The company said it was clear that Mr Micallef was indeed the person who owed it a considerable sum of money.

The reply claimed Mr Micallef requested the injunction in bad faith and with malicious intent. “It was a frivolous attempt at stopping the company from taking legal action against him,” the reply said.
