MLP Complains to Broadcasting Authority about NET TV

Malta Independent Friday, 18 June 2004, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

In its letter, signed by secretary-general Jason Micallef, the MLP said that on 10 June the Nationalist Party television station NET TV had shown footage of the MLP mass meeting in Zejtun which had been taken from Super One. The programme presenter, Pierre Portelli, introduced the footage as having “been lifted from Super One”.

On the film shown by NET TV, there was a caption which stated: “On Monday we take to the streets” and “A Labour majority”. These gave viewers the impression that the caption was also shown on Super One, when this was not the case.

The MLP categorically denies that the caption was shown on

Super One and asked the authority to take the necessary action

against NET TV.
