During the meeting, Dr Agius thanked Dr Memmo for his full cooperation in the Italian protocol-financed restructuring of the vegetable market il-pitkalija.
The restructuring is estimated to cost E1.432 million. Dr Agius also discussed what veterinary help could be given in the future for both Italy and Malta to benefit in the agriculture and fisheries sector.
Dr Memmo thanked Dr Agius and reaffirmed his help and full cooperation in the restructuring process at the pitkalija.
He said the two countries have shown goodwill in the sector and he intends to strengthen the excellent relations which exist between them.
Dr Memmo also mentioned the possibility of the Italian agriculture and fisheries minister visiting Malta later this year.
