The event entitled The Green Raspberry will be held in Republic Street from 7pm till 11pm and will feature sets by popular DJ Owen Jay, renowned band Scream Daisy, A 60s music set by Jazz DJ Job together with independent candidate Cecil Herbert Jones.
There will also be a short speech by AD chairman Harry Vassallo and European Green Party secretary general Professor Cassola.
The celebration is not exclusive to individuals who voted for Prof. Cassola. AD welcomes any Maltese citizen to celebrate Malta’s democratic victory, whereby the third party has increased its votes by 1,300 per cent since the general election in 2003.
The Green Raspberry is a big thank you to all those who made their voice heard in this election, including the 29,000 voters who supported Prof.Cassola’s candidature as well as those who decided to abstain from voting on 12 June. The event will also celebrate the positive effect it has left on those voters who felt sceptical of such a success for the Green Party and decided not to support the Greens this time round.
On Tuesday, Dr Vassallo publicly invited Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and Opposition Leader Alfred Sant to attend this first post-election celebration organised by AD.
The event is sponsored by Sottovoce Frizzante.
