MLP Will make the difference – Alfred Sant

Malta Independent Wednesday, 23 June 2004, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Speaking in Ghaxaq, Dr Sant said that the results of the election show the MLP is the largest political group on the islands. In the EP election, the MLP had gained 4,400 over the last general election, Dr Sant said, and this meant 21,000 votes more than the Nationalists.

In the local council elections, the MLP had this time round obtained the absolute majority of votes when, three years ago,

in the same localities it had obtained a relative majority.

The MLP is committed to give the people what they deserve. The Maltese and Gozitans were tired of being deceived by the government. This is why the MLP was saying the truth and building the future on it so that there will be employment, social safeguarding and dignity.

Dr Sant said the MLP will insist on the creation of more job opportunities. He reminded the government on the MLP’s proposal for the setting up of a committee aimed at creating more employment. The MLP is willing to work within this committee.
