In a statement, the party said it believes an important factor in the Maltese people’s future is the creation of new job opportunities.

The MLP said it is ready to explain its proposals to anyone willing to listen.

Despite the focus needed on job creation, competitiveness and employment must not be pushed forward at the expense of social protection, the party said.

The MLP national executive and parliamentary group thanked the Maltese who supported the party and showed faith in it during the European Parliament and local council elections.

They unanimously agreed that the head of the MLP delegation to the EP should be appointed by a rotating system, which was proposed by the MEPs. This shows the three MLP MEPs are willing to shoulder the responsibility of being head of the delegation.

The party said the MLP MEPs should participate in EP committees that deal with economic, budgetary and social concerns.

They expressed their appreciation to the officials of the party for their contribution to the MLP election campaign. They also wished the MLP MEPs and councillors well and urged them to continue working hard towards the party’s goals.
