Two-year Jail term for permanently scarring man’s face

George Farrugia, 44, known as ic-Capalaw, was found guilty of seriously injuring and permanently scarring Anthony Azzopardi’s face on 5 December 2003 at the Floriana bus terminus. He was also found guilty of grievous bodily harm and relapsing in view of various convictions.

The court, presided over by magistrate Jacqueline Padovani Grima, sentenced him to two years’ imprisonment. Police inspector Ramon Mercieca and superintendent Charles Magro prosecuted.
