Responding to a message received from the Italian fishing vessel Saverio Leceglie, Armed Forces of Malta patrol vessel P31 was dispatched to rescue the migrants, in a position 38 nautical miles east of Malta.
The migrants, 18 males and seven females, were in a small seven-metre craft when they were rescued.
They were later disembarked at the Maritime Squadron, Haywharf, and taken into police custody.
