These proposals are:
• For a Private Public Partnership between the Local Council and the Association to be set up with the aim to identify and manage projects that could be funded through the various EU projects;
• That the association will assist in the promotion of Marsascala Cultural Week. The Association already has Tourism Minister Francis Zammit Dimech’s commitment that the MTA will help in the organisation of such Cultural week;
• The association offered its help to the Council in the
forwarding of the project regarding the informative billboards around Marsascala.
During the meeting the association emphasised that although the opening of the parking area of the Park of Friendship will help, the parking problem still needs to be given priority. In this respect, the association encouraged the local council to proceed at the earliest with the development of a temporary car park.
Mayor Charlot Bonnici informed the association that the proposals will be presented to the local council. The association said it is convinced that the council will approve its proposals with enthusiasm while it augurs that everyone understands that for things to be done in the right manner, the association needs an answer at the earliest possible. In view of this, it was agreed with the mayor that the proposals are addressed by the council in the first meeting and that by 8 July the association will have an answer together with a draft programme of the Marsascala Cultural Week.
Once again the Association would like to highlight that if all parties collaborate, Marsascala will flourish even more and encourages all interested parties to get closer to the association in order to work hand-in-hand for Marsascala’s good.
The association would like to take this opportunity to encourage Marsascala visitors to use the new parking facility at the Park of Friendship.
