The winners of the competition were given a prize sponsored by Scan computers. There were 11 entries, a participation that was described by the cine circle as ‘healthy and encouraging’, especially given the little material support given to this art form.
Attendance was also high with the screening hall packed to the full. The various formats submitted were all converted onto a computer and projected, for the first time, through state-of-the-art equipment loaned by BDS Ltd.
The judging was carried out by Mr Alfred Buhagiar, Mr John Coleiro and Ms Sue Ronald, herself filmmaker and author of a thesis on the setting up of the Malta Film Commission.
