Mr Galdes served on the Qormi council for over a decade and said he had no intention of forgetting about the locality and its people. “I will continue to work, in parliament, for the good of Qormi village and its inhabitants. I do not know what I will be focusing on at a national level yet as I have still to meet party leader Alfred Sant to discuss it,” said Mr Galdes. He got 99 per cent of John Attard Montalto’s votes and received 3,406 in all with the quota at 1,732. He said he was extremely happy to become an MP and said it was a very positive transition from local government to the House of Parliament.
