The council is expected to convene this morning to discuss various issues. The top item on the agenda is expected to be the working scheme of the Danish Presidency of the European Union.

Other points for discussion could include the relationship between the EU and other non-member states, including Russia and Iraq.

Meanwhile, last night Dr Frendo attended a meeting with Ministers of Foreign Commerce in Brussels. He will also participate in meetings between the 25 EU Foreign Ministers and new Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi. Dr Frendo is expected to return to Malta this evening.
