An AFM statement said that late on Monday afternoon, the AFM’s operations centre received a call that 50 miles south of Malta a boat with 30 persons on board was drifting.
A search and rescue operation was launched late that evening and continued during yesterday with the assistance of foreign forces.
However, due to rough sea conditions, the search has had to be temporarily suspended and will resume today at first light.
