The project, which came into fruition this scholastic year, has seen 13 Italian children integrated into various levels of the bilingual and holistic educational programme. These students will continue their education alongside Maltese children until they are relocated to their Italian schools. This project has brought about an interesting educational exchange between Italian and Maltese teachers who work together on the integrated programme. This shared educational experience will benefit both the Italian and Maltese students in the schools.

The programmes of study that are taught in English will obviously comply with the official Maltese standards. The specialised areas of study taught in Italian are set to achieve the same standards stipulated by the Italian programme. Italy considers this project as an interesting, innovative, educational one, being its first initiative of this kind with a European country. The compatibility of programmes of study can offer the condition for both Italian and Maltese students to broaden their horizons, contributing to the full integration of Malta in the European Union.
