This was the first meeting after the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding to improve their relations.
After the meeting, Dr Frendo stressed the importance that countries in the Mediterranean, the Middle East and the Persian Gulf have for Maltese international politics, particularly considering Malta’s membership in the European Union.
Mr Al Shura said the meeting was beneficial to both countries, saying that they helped the two sides get to know each other more in terms of international politics.
Malta and Saudi Arabia also discussed a draft cooperation agreement which both are working on to conclude as quickly as possible.
