The union said this was not the first incident, radiographers and nurses have been attacked in Casualty in the past. The union expressed solidarity with the doctors.
The UHM also said it had investigated the incident and said the security officers detailed on duty were where they were supposed to be and even helped calm the situation down.
The union appealed to the Health Division to up the security presence in this department and insisted on a police presence.
