Malta Independent Saturday, 17 July 2004, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

The report said that Lm9 million was to be spent on the building whereas, the DOI said, the cost was actually Lm6.5 million.

However, the DOI said that the government had allocated Lm9 million for installing the necessary services and structural alterations to accommodate Malta’s permanent representatives to the European Union, the Belgian embassy and other entities that might need representation in Brussels.

The DOI said it was also necessary to clarify that the building will not be used as a residence for permanent representatives to the EU or the Maltese ambassador to Belgium.
