It helps a diabetic person track his/her blood glucose levels and insulin. It also generates graphs and statistics that are valuable feedback for the diabetics and their doctors. This software is ideal for both persons suffering from Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes.
This project was commenced last January by Mr Alf Windhorst from Germany. He was encouraged to embark on this project because he is a Type 1 diabetic and was eager to improve his blood glucose parameters.
The SiProject is a non-commercial diabetes project and is free to all persons who wish to download this software. The SiDiary has so far been a tremendous success and today the software is translated into more than 13 languages with assistance from people from all over the World.
The SiDiary cannot replace consultations with healthcare professionals however it can increase the diabetic’s motivation for tracking the important values which is the basis for recognising weak points within the therapy.
All persons wishing to avail themselves of this software at no cost can view the Maltese Diabetes Association’s website at
www.diabetesmalta.org by going on the ‘Links’ menu and clicking on the SiDiary – Diabetes Management Software.
