Malta Independent Monday, 19 July 2004, 00:00 Last update: about 15 years ago

Dr Galea said this during a ceremony in which he donated a total of Lm4,000 to 15 youth organisations.

Dr Galea spoke of the importance of networking to become more productive and more effective. He said that while all organisations had their own particular aims and goals, all should work for the good of the local community. Dr Galea said this year’s committee had selected 15 out of 29 organisations who had applied for aid. These included the Malta Girl Guides Association, Free Trade Cooperative, Inizjamed, Life Cycle, Zaghzagh Haddiema Nsara, Mosta Youth Empowerment Programme, External Feast Committee – Dingli, Faith Alive Teens, Youth Diocesan Commission, Moviment Graffitti, Gozo Youth Voluntary Group, Catholic Action Youth Group, The Helping Hands Group, Zabbar Adolescent Group and Kerygma.

Dr Galea said that in the past two years, a total of 56 youth groups had received a total of Lm20,000. The next call for applications will be in November. The donations are given out twice a year.
