X-fm station manager Cliff Brooks said: “This is a first for Maltese radio and I am very pleased to have this service on X-fm. We tried to launch this service last year, but now we have teamed up with Falcon Aviation and DHL Express we can provide our listeners with the best and most accurate traffic report to make the journey to work a bit more bearable!”
The two-seated plane will be flying over Malta during The Nescafe Big Breakfast show with Carlo Borg Bonaci on weekday mornings and will be flown by Capt. Nigel Dunkerley. He had this to say: “It’s a brand new concept for Malta; a lot of big radio stations abroad offer this service but it’s a first for Malta and I’m sure it will prove to be very useful for the Maltese public.”
General manager of DHL Express Malta Glen Scowen is very pleased to be part of Eye in The Sky. “We are involved with X-fm’s current traffic reports through our 13 ground couriers. Now with the added bonus of the Eye in the Sky airborne reports we have gained an extra edge to obtaining information quickly, enabling people to take action to avoid delays, something that is an obvious ‘fit’ with DHL Express.”
“This is the first of its kind for Malta and it falls in line with X-fm’s policy to bring new and innovative ideas to our listeners and improving the standards in broadcasting here in Malta,” said X-fm directors Mark and Simon Grima.
