Two Men deny assaulting public officers

Late on Monday evening, Carmel Dimech, 46, and 21-year-old Ludwig Dimech, both from Zebbug, were charged with attacking public officers, threatening and seriously injuring them. They also denied a charge of breaching the peace by shouting and fighting and damaging the officers’ uniforms.

Carmel Dimech alone was accused of disobeying the officers’ orders.

Presiding magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna upheld the accused’s request for bail.

Superintendent Carmelo Magro and inspector Pierre Micallef Grimaud prosecuted.
