The Green Party’s deputy chairman, Mario Mallia, and AD’s civil rights spokesman, James Debono, will participate in this march.

The march takes place this evening at 7pm in Valletta.

Mr Mallia called on all those who believe in an inclusive society to participate in the march.

“Discrimination in all its forms undermines the prosperity of us all. Whenever a gay person is unable to fulfill his potential due to the ignorance and prejudice of others, we all stand to lose. Social inclusion is the key to our prosperity because we cannot afford to lose anybody’s potential”.

Mr Debono reiterated AD’s commitment in favour of concrete measures to promote social inclusion.

“We have consistently called for the banning of discrimination and harassment based on sexual orientation in the work place. We have also called for the recognition of registered partnerships between same sex couples because we believe that all family units deserve a measure of social protection.

We have also called for the enactment of legislation against hate crimes directed against all minorities,” he concluded.
