In a statement, the association recalled that the baggage trolley service suspension for seven months between November 2003 and May was owing to an industrial dispute and the long time it took to solve the matter. During this period much harm was caused to the tourism industry in Gozo.
Unfortunately this situation has cropped up again recently during the peak summer season, which it said started relatively late this year. GTA already pointed out the negative impact resulting from this situation. “The present action is going to give the final mortal blow to the tourist industry in Gozo,” the association said.
GTA asks the Minister responsible for Gozo Channel if these are the quality services announced by himself when he announced the raise in the ferry fares back in April.
