The 34-year-old German driver, who was accompanied by a 31-year-old German woman, was making a u-turn when the motorcycle she was driving was involved in a collision with an Opel Tigra driven in the direction of Valletta by a 37-year-old woman from St Paul’ s Bay.

Although the motorcycle driver received serious injuries to her face, her condition was not defined as critical.

The motorcycle passenger and the Maltese driver were only slightly injured and were later discharged from hospital.

Hamrun district police are investigating.
