The 32 year-old Mtarfa man came away from the accident with slight injuries and a shock, however the Toyota Starlet sustained considerable damage.
An ambulance rushed to the scene and took the man to hospital, however it was soon clear that he was not seriously injured. The accident happened at around noon.
Shortly afterwards officials from Maltacom were also at the scene.
