Jesmond Zammit, 41 from Hamrun, yesterday admitted attacking and injuring police constable Louis Spiteri at 5.30pm at the Hamrun police station.
The man also pleaded guilty to threatening the constable and using obscene language in public. After his admission, presiding magistrate Michael Mallia sentenced the man to four months in prison.
Inspector Carlo Ellul prosecuted while Dr Roberto Montalto appeared for Zammit.
