In a statement issued through the Department of Information, the Public Health Department said that all samples taken, including those of last week, did not indicate that the sea in this area was contaminated by drainage.
Each time reports about a smell of drainage is received, department officials inspect the area and carry out tests to check whether the sea is contaminated. Such an exercise was carried out last Friday, and no drainage
contamination was detected.
This means that St George’s Bay is fit for bathing, the DOI said.
