Chief Justice In Jersey

The meeting, which is being held in St Helier, Jersey, in the Channel Islands will discuss, among other things, the efficient management of civil litigation, the use of information technology in the development of law and legal systems in small jurisdictions, methods of judicial appointment, and collaboration within the Commonwealth to protect the independence of the judiciary.

The meeting was convened on the initiative of the bailiff (chief justice) of Jersey, Sir Philip Bailhache.

During the absence of the Chief Justice from Malta, Mr Justice Joseph D. Camilleri will be acting Chief Justice.
