Malta Has largest amount of EU-funded environment projects

The study carried out an analysis of the environmental aspects of the structural and cohesion funds in each new member state. It established that Malta had devoted about 41 per cent of its structural funds to environmental projects. Cyprus and the Czech Republic came next, with 25 per cent. Mepa alone is benefiting from over E2.1 million for environmental projects. In addition, many EU funds can be tapped by Maltese NGOs, local councils and others.
