The cruise will be a journey across the Mediterranean to mark the bicentenary of Nelson’s death in 1805 at Trafalgar.
The deluxe small cruise liner MS Island Sky, formerly the Renaissance VIII, will set sail from Malta on 27 April and visit Taormina, Palermo (scene of Nelson’s famous dalliance with Emma Hamilton), Naples, La Maddalena in Sardinia, Elba, Bastia in Corsica, Calvi where Nelson lost an eye, Port Mahon in Minorca, and Cadiz, just a short distance away from Trafalgar.
Lord Nelson spent two weeks anchored off Malta on holiday with Lord and Lady Hamilton in 1800 but Lord Nelson was far more important than that in the context of Malta’s uprising against the French.
The cruise prices range from £2,695 to £4,295.
