Car Wash marathon in aid of Appogg children’s fund

Malta Independent Thursday, 30 September 2004, 00:00 Last update: about 23 years ago

Appogg’s employees have set up the Appogg Children’s Fund to help children who live in poverty and disadvantaged situations. In their interventions, Appogg staff do their best to empower the parents or carers of these children to address these difficulties however they sometimes encounter helpless situations. Thus Appogg staff have volunteered to raise funds in a bid to minimise these disadvantages and the effects of poverty on children.

The Appogg Children’s Fund is aimed to assist children, directly or through their carers, in meeting their basic or special demands. Situations arise where these children need material support immediately, and where carers are unable to provide this support. This is particularly so in situations where children require food, clothing, medication, uniforms, books, payment for a school outing or project, sportswear, visits to a medical consultant or any specialised treatment (medical or psychological).

The general public is being invited to support this car wash marathon in a bid to raise more funds for Appogg Children’s Fund. Various other fundraising initiatives took place since the fund was set up earlier on this year, among them the baking of figolli at Easter time, a hairdressing marathon, a football tournament and a fundraising diving experience for Appogg staff and their friends. On behalf of the beneficiaries, Appogg would like to thank all the organisations and individuals who supported this fund so far.
