“Malta has excellent relations with China. During the past 30 years, China and Malta have sought the best means of forging relations in the tourism and cultural fields which today fall within the same Ministry in our country. Both China and Malta are endowed with a history that goes back thousands of years and which should prove an experience to those who visit these two nations,” said Minister Francis Zammit Dimech.

The Minister for Tourism and Culture said that Malta had an Approved Destination Status (ADS) with China, an agreement that accepts Malta as a “destination country” for the Chinese. Under this agreement, Chinese nationals who decide to go abroad for their holiday can visit Malta, and Malta is very pleased to be welcoming an increasing number of visitors from China every year.
