The International Charity Society in Malta is asking for the support of the Maltese people for the victims of the Beslan tragedy through another new initiative - A toy from Maltese child to a Beslan one.
Maltese children are being asked to take a new toy to school as a present for the children of Beslan before 6 October. The toys should be collected in school premises and placed in boxes with the name of each respective school. The boxes will be collected by ICS representatives on 7 October or thay can be delivered directly by school members at Freedom Square, Valletta, between 9am and 5pm on Saturday 9 October.
This initiative is also being extended to all local councils, companies and the people of Malta who are willing to give a helping hand to the victims of Beslan.
Children will have the opportunity to draw pictures in support of Beslan children – “The tragedy in the eyes of Maltese children”, which will be passed to the Russian authorities in Malta together with the collected toys. Children can draw pictures at home and present them for display during the activity.
Maltese singers are welcome to participate. Schoolchildren wishing to sing or dance will be welcomed.
Maltese students will be introduced to the Russian orphan children who are in Malta.
Maltese students can also apply by filling an application to welcome the group of children from Beslan and other Russian orphan children who will be coming to Malta in December. They will be in Malta from 17 December to 21 January.
