Jean Paul Mifsud is preparing an edition of the popular Friday programme in that sad town.
The Xarabank team is meanwhile preparing for the new season. One of the upcoming programmes is one on plastic surgery. Peppi Azzopardi said his team has been following the stories of people who enlarged their breasts, fixed their nose or had wrinkles removed.
Xarabank this year aims to have a higher dose of satire and social and political comment. Popular comic actor Hector Bruno has now joined the team as a government-employed messenger. James Bondin “will have returned from Brussels”. Vince Fabri will compose an original satirical song each week.
This year’s resident singers will be Karen Polidano, Andreanna Spiteri, Nadine Axisa and Fiona Cauchi.
Mr Azzopardi said his team has sent in 15,000 questionnaires asking people what themes they would prefer Xarabank to take up. Among the forthcoming editions there will be programmes on rent and inheritance laws. Some editions will focus on a murder and the people on the show will be asked to find out the killer. Another programme will explore the differences between men and women while another finds out what takes place in Malta during the night. Yet another programme will focus on fetishes and sex.
And Xarabank will always keep itself available to change its programme at a day’s notice and focus on the issue of the day.
