A spokesman for the Prime Minister said yesterday that the forensic experts, who have been reporting for work at the Finance Ministry for a month, had agreed to form part of the MNL and will start working there as from today. Mario Scerri will be head of the forensic department.

The equipment that the forensic experts made use of at Evans Building in Valletta, where the laboratory had been situated, will also be moved to San Gwann today.

The Occupational Health and Safety Authority had ordered the forensic experts not to carry out work at Evans Building because of serious health hazards.

Since then the experts have been reporting for work at the Finance Ministry, where they were, however, not carrying out any duties related to their job.

This had led to complaints that the law courts could not function to the best of their abilities. The impasse has now been resolved and the experts will return to their normal duties this morning.
