Once elected to a majority in the council they kept their commitment and did more to, spending Lm100,000 in the process.
The council has also continued with its maintenance work at Pretty Bay.
Visiting Birzebbuga yesterday, Labour leader Alfred Sant praised the Labour-led council for doing its best to promote the well-being of the locality.
Birzebbuga mayor Joseph Farrugia said the council plans works in Zurieq Road and also plans to turn a disused site in Wied il-Buni to a parksite for 250 cars and a bus terminus.
Mr Farrugia once again was scathing in his words on WSC chairman Michael Falzon. In particular, he said, St Philip’s Street, where work costing Lm60,000 has been done, will have to be redone because of damages it sustained with water works digging.
