The incident took place at around 2.30pm. The 55-year old was airlifted to Gozo General Hospital, but the coroner pronounced him dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, a 39-year-old from Ghasri was on the critical list yesterday after he fell off a ladder.
Preliminary investigations established that the man was carrying out some maintenance work on a house in Ghasri when he fell. He was rushed to hospital by a paramedic crew and doctors certified that his condition was critical. He was later airlifted to St Luke’s Hospital for further treatment.
Duty magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona was informed of both cases and appointed a number of experts to assist in separate on-site inquiries.
Gozo district police are investigating both incidents.
