In a statement, the MLP said it is aware of the number of unemployed people as well as those who are in danger of losing their jobs. This is a symptom of a much greater problem in society and the economy.
The MLP has issued a document on a plan for economic and social regeneration to raise the quality of life and understand why jobs are being lost, along with competitiveness.
The party is holding meetings to discuss its plan because until this is done, the reason for rising unemployment will not be discovered. In the statement, the MLP claimed it is ready to work with all those involved to instil hope for an increase in investment and for Malta to become more competitive.
Government has cut itself off from the people and does understand the burden being carried by those who are losing their jobs, said the MLP.
