Graziella Attard and Roberto Conte were arraigned by police in front of Magistrate Myriam Hayman yesterday afternoon.
They were remanded in jail but Graziella Attard fell ill and an ambulance had to be called.
Lawyers Joe Giglio, Noel Camilleri and Jose Herrera represented the accused.
The 10 kg haul was one of the biggest ever discovered in Malta.
