The restoration work on the facade of this historical Mdina building will be carried out by the Malta Centre of Restoration and represents the final phase in the restoration of Palazzo Falson.

Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti are currently undertaking a long-term restoration project of Palazzo Falson, parts of which date back to the 13th century, and the conservation and restoration of the various collections that were housed in the palazzo. Once this project is completed, the palazzo will open its doors to the Maltese public and to the thousands of tourists who visit Mdina.

During the presentation of the cheque to Mr de Giorgio, Mr Zahra outlined BOV’s long-standing commitment to support the Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti and to assist in the restoration project at Palazzo Falson.

“The Bank’s board of directors responded favourably to the appeal by the fondazzjoni for support for the restoration of the façade of this historical building. BOV acknowledges the historical and cultural significance of this whole project and is delighted to be associated with this initiative. Indeed, the bank’s support shows that BOV has high regard to its social responsibility”, said Mr Zahra.

“It is well recognised that BOV has now established itself as the major supporter of culture and the arts and our support towards this prestigious project is an endorsement of this ongoing commitment. We firmly believe that this project will ultimately contribute towards the increased historical prestige of Mdina,” he said.
